Binary Sunset 2017 Recap

2017 was the first full year of Binary Sunset being in existence. It was definitely a great year and we can only hope that 2018 caps this one. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible; the bands, the listeners and everyone in the scene. Guam's music scene has crazy amounts of potential, and we just want to make sure that this platform helps contribute to the recognition many of our local musicians/artist deserve. There is still so much more to be accomplished and come 2018 we will work our best to give more.

Everyone has been very supportive of the scene and if it motivates us, it definitely motivates the bands and musicians. This New Year make it a resolution that if you like what you hear or see, give a little kudos to the artist. That small compliment can go a long way; thats the kind of gas that keeps them going. Also, if you've always thought about starting a band or just picking up and instrument for the first time, stop thinking about it and just do it, cause you never know.

Anyways please enjoy this video recap of 2017 that we put together to close out the year. To all the bands we have filmed (both live and in studio), THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU times a million (from the bottom of our hearts, like for real). We are truly humbled by your willingness to work with us and be apart of this project.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones (Jimmy Kimmel Live)

Arguably one of the greatest ska bands around, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, recently performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and it was awesome. Perhaps rocking one of the coolest suits I've ever seen. I swear, just being in the ska mood right now, but ska performances are probably thee happiest vibes you'ed get from a band; that's the impression that I get (see what just happen there). Anyways enjoy.

Fat Tofu (Live @ Boyz2Men Concert)

Finally added to the arsenal of our Binary Sunset LIVE segment is Fat Tofu; performing both new/unreleased (to be released on their upcoming album) and old songs (from their previous album). This footage was taken from Fat Tofu's live opening performance for the legendary R&B legends, Boyz 2 Men. The concert took place at Paseo Stadium in Hagatna, and although the Ska genre is on the opposite end of the music spectrum from R&B, the performance was nothing short of entertaining. New Found Glory-20 Years from Now

One of the most iconic pop-punk bands of all time has turned 20. These guys pretty much were forerunners to a new sound of pop-punk and you can see how much influence they had on bands that have come after them such as Neck Deep and State Champs. New Found Glory was what made me a fan of Drive-Thru Records, which in turn opened the door for me to many of the other bands that came out of that record label. These guys are still one of my favorite artist and I definitely hope for more years to come.
